Darwinia, Multiwinia source code released

Darwinia, Multiwinia source code released

Introversion has let loose the source code for its classic and surreal strategy game Darwinia and its sequel Multiwinia.

If you're not into modding yourself, this won't interest you, but those on the receiving end can look forward to heaps of crazy and fun mods. Those who are, however, should note Windows and Visual Studio 2008 are required to build. Mac and Linux are possible, but will require extra effort on your part.

Oddly, they're charging for the code via their shop -- 30.00 to be precise. Purchase comes with access to the development forums and wiki, a forum tag, a separate Metaserver for testing, plus five authentication keys so you can test with four others if you please.

Introversion says the release is part of their continuing plan to release source code for all of their games, so modders should be kept busy for quite some time.
