Mass Effect 2 PC, Xbox 360 demo released

Mass Effect 2 PC, Xbox 360 demo released

BioWare doesn't traditonally release demos for its games, but that changed when we heard last week a demo would be coming for Mass Effect 2 -- the Xbox 360 version, at least.

Today it's released for both PC and 360, so everyone but PS3 gamers can finally get a taste of what the fuss is about. And if you are new, don't fret as it's designed to introduce new players to the series with its "Story-so-far" video and possibly the tutorial. You may want to skip over the video if you like to remain spoiler-free -- the original game is definitely essential playing if you're keen.

It's a juicy demo, too, featuring the first two missions and one bonus mission, adding up to about 90 minutes of gameplay. Also cool: any progress you make can be carried over to the full version of the game.

Both PC and Xbox 360 gamers should head to the source to begin their download; PC users can also use GamersHell as an alternate.
