Alpha Protocol patch in the works, DLC unlikely

Alpha Protocol patch in the works, DLC unlikely

Though our review of Alpha Protocolwas glowing, there are definitely some problems with the game that could use patching. We can only speak for the PC version (though console gamers have certainly reported problems too), but the biggest include stuttering and mouse lag (fixable with a tweak, but still), enemies not respawning when they should, and in certain situations, poor keyboard and mouse support.

Interested parties then should be glad to know Obsidian is in fact working on a patch, despite speculation to the contrary. Company CEO Feargus Urquhart says they wanted to release a quick patch based on feedback, but "[Sega] wanted to take a different approach by gathering more information over a longer period of time and provide a patch then. That's what we're figuring out right now."

On the topic of DLC, Urquhart implies the odds don't look great, saying, "I don't know if [Sega is] talking about that at all yet. I can say that we're not working on any DLC right now. We'd love to, but we're not." This is likely an indication of less than stellar sales -- a shame as the game is a pretty perfect setup for additional content. Nevertheless, a patch could fix things up proper and get the word spread that this is a worthy release.
