New Civilization V screens conquer your monitor

New Civilization V screens conquer your monitor

No matter what you do in a round of Civilization, you're always bound to get yourself in a tussle with barbarians and rival civilizations. Civilization V is no different where the battles are just as epic and prettier than ever.

What may change, however, is your battle strategy as the square tiles fans have been used to for the last few years are now being replaced by hexagon tiles, adding more movement options and mix things up a bit on how you and your enemies approach each other. That should also make your escape route more flexible when Gandhi's nuking your main city.

The interface has also undergone some changes and tweaks, showing more info, stats, and frequently used options where needed; today's batch of screens also reveal the ability to buy tiles which should make getting access to resources a little easier. Managing your civilization and units will be smoother than ever when the game hits this September 21 (September 24 in Europe).
