Dead Space 2 sends Isaac into The Sprawl

Dead Space 2 sends Isaac into The Sprawl

Isaac's return has been long anticipated, and in Dead Space 2, the man's heading to the city known as "The Sprawl." It's actually a very pretty place, at least from far away, and if you can ignore the necromorphs.

The vaguely humanoid monsters attack our hero non-stop, and he must plow through the waves with an array of awesome weapons, as the only survivor of an alien infestation. A gameplay demo at EA's conference showed different and entertaining ways of taking apart the enemy. Isaac wanders through an old cathedral, later attacked by a gunship of some kind -- though he's also a tad delusional by that point.

Enemies can be taken out the old fashioned way, but then there's this gun that freezes things in bullet time, allowing Isaac to catch them off guard. Doesn't look like you'll ever run out of nasties to test kills on either.

Just hold out until next year, when Dead Space 2 launches January 25, 2011.
