Alien Breed: Impact artwork inspired by 'Alien' films

Impact artwork inspired by Alien films

Team17's remake of their '90s hit Alien Breed has garnered positive feedback all around. Their first remake, called Alien Breed Evolution, hit Xbox LIVE in 2009, and a remake of that, titled Alien Breed: Impact, arrived earlier last month for PSN and PC.

If anyone thought the art looked vaguely familiar, they've likely seen an Alien flick sometime in the past three (give or take) decades. According to lead artist Nick Gomersall, the art for Evolution and Impact were partially inspired by Ridley Scott's movies. The other source of inspiration is, of course, the original Alien Breed.

“Of course the obvious answer is the ‘Alien’ films, and also some other classic science-fiction films which we are all big fans of here at Team17. We were, however, equally inspired by the original Alien Breed series of games. I always remember having great fun playing them back when they first came out, and I also fondly remembered the art-style of those games, and it made a big impression on me as well.”
