Spore action-RPG in development

Spore action-RPG in development

Maxis is evidently hard at work on a successor to Spore, though it's probably not quite what you were expecting: an action RPG.

The news come way of the Comic Con website, where we'll see the game revealed once events get underway next week.

The premise of the series definitely lends itself well to the RPG mold -- we imagine some shared elements with the Pokemon series, as well as the ability to create your own creature warriors.

The game could be called Dark Spore, a name recently trademarked by publisher EA.
