Far Cry 2 getting new 'hardcore' multiplayer mode in patch

Far Cry 2 getting new hardcore multiplayer mode in patch

Ubisoft Montreal revealed that they plan to introduce a new hardcore mode for the PC, PS3, XBox 360 FPS, in the next batch of upcoming patches.

The new hardcore mode changes things up to make the game less of a frag-fest, and a bit more of a tactical FPS, like Counter-Strike.

The following specific changes are going to be introduced:

A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons. All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.

A date has not be set for the patch beyond saying that it is upcoming.

Some Far Cry 2 fans have expressed displeasure that Ubisoft Montreal is introducing new features without sufficiently addressing problems perceived to be challenging the game in its current state.
