After a brief retirement from saving the world or whatever self-gratifying caper they wanted to take on, Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse sees the return of the dog and bunny-thing duo for another season's worth of crime solving.
In this preview for The Penal Zone episode, Sam and Max abruptly leave a strange spaceship to meet with restaurant proprietor Uncle Stinky for some sort of enlistment but Uncle Stinky isn't finding the two as viable members. The Devil's Playhouse introduces a significant graphical upgrade for the series featuring realistic lighting effects and more active camera shots. Fans will also note the return of Sybil and Bosco on the teleporting device, the latter of which has apparently undergone a drastic sex change.
PC and Macintosh owners who pre-order right now get the full game upon release and are entitled to various goods such as access to a private forum to talk with developers and Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell, various downloads, a free episode of any game from the Telltale library, and more. PlayStation 3 players can also pre-order before this Thursday to save $5 off the full season price.
