Mass Effect fan creates gigantic LEGO SSV Normandy

Mass Effect fan creates gigantic LEGO SSV Normandy

Video games and LEGO just go hand in hand, and one Mass Effect fan decided to add a LEGO SSV Normandy to his collection of blocky space vehicles.

Ben Fellowes decided to go all out, so his model Normandy does more than just sit there looking pretty. Stretching across 1.26 meters, the ship boasts retractable Thanix cannons and working doors; the main docking hatch ("Decontamination in progress.") can be lifted open, and the hangar opens and closes for the Kodiak shuttle. The shuttle itself comes with rotatable engines and fitstwo li'l LEGO dudes. I know, right?

Here a few more details from the builder himself:

Excatly one month to the day after construction was 'complete', the SR2 recieved her first overhaul (excluding the hangar modifications to accomodate the UT-47). She was given minor cosmetic upgrades to dorsal surface, as well as an actual display stand, rather than an up-turned box. This Stand now sports the Black and Orange Cerberus logo, evident in the most recent image.

We've got a few photos of the materpiece, and you can see the rest (plus more commentary) here. Just in case you can't fathom distance in meters, let me assure you that this baby is huge. Fellowes admits it's a bit ungainly due to its size, but everyone is too busy drooling to care.
