Guild Wars in-game event covers 250 years of lore

Guild Wars in-game event covers 250 years of lore

In preparation for the upcoming Guild Wars 2, NCsoft and ArenaNet have put together some epic new in-game content, kicking off an ongoing campaign to expand existing GW lore.

The campaign starts with the "War in Kryta" event, which is pretty much exactly as it sounds. Players will be taking part in the violent conflict between the Shining Blade rebels and the White Mantle cult, siding with the former in their quest to restore the Kyrtan monarchy and Princess Salma to the throne. Salma's descendent, Queen Jennah, will eventually lead the humans in GW2.

Gwen (the whiny, emo Charr-hating mesmer) may also be making her appearance, leaving her mark in history by later marrying Lt. Keiran Thackeray and establishing the human city of Ebonhawke. That name will, of course, get a chuckle from most KotOR fans.

Gwen's descendent, Locan Thackery, will be appearing in Guild Wars 2 as well.

And of course, you can purchase Shining Blade or White Mantle costumes from the official War in Kryta page, at $6.99 each.
