Following up the PS3 patch released last week, today arrives one for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Dragon Age: Origins.
Like the PS3 version, this one preps the game for the upcoming Awakening expansion, and also fixes a minor bug and tweaks balancing a little more. The major point here, for PC players at least -- is the loading times, which are now fixed. Previously, loading to intensive areas like Denerim, or to any area after extensive play time would take -- pardon the pun -- ages. Not so anymore, which is great news and should make the experience that much more seamless.
Release notes are below. Xbox 360 players can grab the update through LIVE now; PC players, head to the source.
Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. Most of these changes do not affect Origins itself. Some players were experiencing increasingly long load times. A major cause of this problem has been fixed. At higher levels, non-player characters now receive a bonus to armor penetration. This mitigates an unintentional imbalance with well-armored high-level characters, since armor penetration previously did not scale as aggressively as armor itself did.Elite-rank enemies (lieutenants) can no longer be shattered. This preserves the intended tactical design of many combat encounters.Portraits for summoned creatures (like a ranger's wolf) were displaying improperly while in the party camp. This no longer occurs.Source:B10W4r3 50C14L n37w0rk
