The independently made GNILLEY was shown off at the Global Game Jam in Sydney this weekend, and was a hit thanks to its scream-based controls.
Designer Glen Forrester (aka Radix) was responsible for bringing the original Zelda into first-person, and it looks like the game has made its way into his latest work as well. As you can see from the footage below, GNILLEY is based on the concept of turning our most frustrated moments in gaming into fun.
Nintendo of course started popularized the idea of mic-based controls with the DS, while Vivarium and Jellyvision started it with the wonderful Dreamcast game Seaman. Of course, neither respond to screaming and yelling. Come to think of it, a screaming-based Seaman game would be hilarious...
