The latest gaming violence news that takes the cake in WTF factor comes from Romania, where a 17-year-old teenager has been charged with murdering his own mother. That's right, some kid actually killed his own (well, adoptive) mom for not paying the Internet bills.
Lonut Silviu Savin, the teen in question, stabbed his guardian 17 times when he couldn't log into Counter-Strike. Turns out, she had intentionally dropped the Internet in an attempt to curb Savin's worrisome computer habits. Following the attack, he went an Internet cafe he frequents to play for four hours, before finally turning himself in.
Those who know the boy -- friends, teachers and the cafe owner -- all note he's always been quiet and independent, and gave no warning signs or any indication that he was capable of murder.
The underage culprit is currently being held at a psychiatric facility for evaluation and faces up to 12 years of jail time.
