PC Edition of Alan Wake Officially Dead

Speaking with StrategyInformer this afternoon, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that they've decided to drop the PC edition of Remedy Entertainment's highly anticipated psychological-thriller, Alan Wake, officially making the title an Xbox 360 exclusive. Why abandon the PC? You'll love this excuse:

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."

As you may recall, Remedy hinted that a PC version might not happen back in July. So while this news should come as no surprise, it still leaves a very bitter taste2103 in our mouths. :(
