Deathspank PC supports high res, key mapping, equipment comparator, more

When you heard the announcement action RPG Deathspank was finally coming to PC, you may have wondered if it would be a lazy port or if it'd receive the love and care it deserves, you spoiled jerk. Well breathe easy, because developer Hothead Games has confirmed it's the latter.

Besides the expected high resolution support and proper keyboard and mouse support, this version also packs a load of other features:

controller supportremapping of controls (whatever your weapon of choice is)repository/treasure chest in each town/major areaimproved inventory managementoverhauled UISteam features: cloud saving, achievements, leaderboardsa bunch of other "small refinements and decisions" that improve the experience

But perhaps most importantly of all, there is an "equipment comparison function" so you can much more easily decide which armor or weapon is best to equip based on how it compares to your current equipment -- a truly essential feature for RPG players. Hothead says this should've been included in the console versions in retrospect, but given they were required to support dodgy 480 interlaced TVs, it wasn't really possible. With the higher resolutions here, it's no biggie.

Co-op is still in thanks to the controller support.

As for the sequel, they're working on it, but no details yet.

Deathspank just launched today on Steam, coincidentally enough (ho ho). If our good news has you riveted, you may find your way over there now.
