We've heard little word of Battlefield 3 since its unofficial announcement last year, but today confirms the game and also its beta. The bad news? Judging from the image above, it's no longer a PC exclusive as fans have hoped. We asked EA for confirmation and also to find out which woud be the lead platform, and were told they're "not discussing any details about Battlefield 3 at this time."
If you want beta access to the game, you must pre-order the Medal of Honor Limited Edition (same price as regular), which launches October 12. Within 12 months after that date, you'll receive a beta invite.
The LE packs special weapons like the lightweight, rapid firing MP-7, two powerful shotguns with custom slugs, and camo. Presumably, like with Bad Company 2, the weapons will be unlockable for free, and the camo will be free to PC players and extra for console players.
We'll be sure to keep you up to date on all Battlefield 3 tidbits we come across.
Update: if you pre-ordered before the LE was announced, you'll still get the bonuses.
