Fable III uses chicken metaphor in opening cinematic

Fable III uses chicken metaphor in opening cinematic

Only the folks at Lionhead Studios can successfully mix ridiculous humor with a potentially deep metaphor. The Fable III opening cinematic is an excellent example.

Fable fans are familiar with the unique style of humor. In the trailer, Theresa paints a picture of the new Albion for us, describing the dire situation its people have been forced into, beneath the oppressive rule of their king (the Hero's brother). The kingdom boasts a new industrial look, marking the new era.

No sparrows this time, just a very frightened chicken that serves a metaphor for defiance. Like rebels against the crown, the chicken fights against its initial fate of winding up at the butcher's. Watch his adventures through the city and his ultimate destination.

We guarantee you've never seen a trailer or game video quite like this -- both sad and highly amusing. Bet this will make you think twice about kicking anymore chickens.
