If you've never played Beatnik's multiplayer suicidal robot ninja game Plain Sight, well boy, now's a better time than ever.
First off: the 1.2 patch has just been released, which adds a persistent power-up system. Whereas before you were randomly awarded with a power-up after collecting a star, now you've gotta buy power-ups with collected stars. After buying, you can jack yourself up with as many as three at a time. Power-ups can be activated as you please, but each have different cooldown rates.
Beatnik says the new system should be good, but should you encounter any bugs or balancing issues, head to the forum.
While they were at it, the team thought they'd make fun of pirates a bit upon discovering an "out of date, LAN only version" had been making the rounds. "If you're too cheap to spend $10 you can play all alone offline," they snicker.
Speaking of dollars, it's also a good idea to get on the game now as GamersGate is currently selling it for just four of them during the final week of their summer sale, alongside other goodness like The Path, Braid, Beat Hazard, and Machinarium (all dirt cheap).
