MW2 maps sell over 20 million despite unusually high prices

MW2 maps sell over 20 million despite unusually high prices

Go figure, Activision and IW put out two $15 map packs for Modern Warfare 2, and after all the complaining, players still bought it up.

Activision can get away with almost anything. The proof is in the figures. The publisher recently announced that as of June 30, 2010, the map packs have surpassed 20 million units sold, in total and across all three consoles.

Not that Activision isn't grateful. After the huge stink raised by the Stimulus Package, they rewarded first-day buyers on Xbox LIVE with a full week of free Gold Membership. There was no such reward for the Resurgence Pack, and we assume it's because by then, most everyone had resigned themselves to the price.
