Besides the community patches by Wesp, Troika's RPG Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines has also been getting some big love lately in the form of the "Camarilla Edition" mod, which incorporates the latest Wesp patch and then a boatload of changes to the gameplay itself.
"One of the biggest problems with Bloodlines is that you never get the sense of BEING a Vampire," author Zer0morph explains. "I mean you have powers and you drink blood, but only to fuel those powers most of which are extremely short lived. Not only that but I have never dropped below a humanity of 10 because I was never in danger of going hungry.
So what we did was completely overhaul how everything from Feeding and Regeneration, to Bloodpool and Disciplines work, giving you a completely new experience to Bloodlines unlike anything you've played in the past."
As you can gather, this may not be for purists, but definitely for those seeking some great replay value.
Very recently version 1.3 was released, incorporating all previous changes in addition to the highlights listed below. You can grab the mod at the source.
The most significant features will be:
- the email college to improve your abilities
- a miniquest, that gives Nosferatu the chance to get the Sewer Haven sooner
- the poster and Mitnik gift quest fixed and changed (I won't tell any details here)
- all magic items / quest rewards as in the plus patches
- If you're a real man Bastard (Bitch) with humanity of 3 or 4, the hunters will be more aggressive and try to get at you with only one masquerade violation.
There will also be some typos and other misunderstandings in the manual and disciplne descriptions cleared up, and a few matters like Mr. Ox's eyes are changed / repaired.
