Good news for Silent Hill fans: the next theatrical film in the series will be wholly based on Silent Hill 3 rather than taking elements from various games. Viewers will be treated to Heather Mason's search for her father and plight with a cult headed by a priestess who wishes to bring paradise to Earth.
Silent Hill Revelation will be written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, whose previous works include Deathwatch and Wilderness. And just to make all that horror extra special, Revelation will be filmed in stereoscopic 3D.
If you're wondering why Roger Avary (screenwriter of the first film) isn't around:
"...original HILL scripter Roger Avary was previously set to encore before his recent troubles with the law."
Those troubles being charged with driving under the influence and manslaughter from a car crash in 2008.
