Black Ops sells 5.6 million copies in 24 hours

Well, who didn't see this coming? Call of Duty: Black Ops sold over an estimated 5.6 million units in the first 24 hours of its release across the United States and Europe. Those units amount to $360 million in sales, making Black Ops the biggest entertainment launch in history.

To compare, Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 sold 4.7 million units to rack up $310 million in sales back in 2009. Activision believes Black Ops is on its way to break MW2's five-day sales record of $550 million and we think it's pretty darn likely that'll happen.
