A major patch has just been released for PC gamers keen on Fallout: New Vegas. As you know, the game has suffered terrible performance issues since launch which many have had to use a workaround for. We'll confirm after testing if this is no longer needed, but for now you should load up Steam and download the 15mb update.
Besides performance issues, numerous bug fixes are in tow relating to companions, Caravan, and more. See below for the notes.
As for console gamers, we'll have word for you soon.
Update: on a 5770, in outdoor environments we saw a minimum of about 60fps, and a maximum of about 80 -- looks like you can toss that d3d9.dll with no worries. Note if you're using New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) for any mods (like the wonderful Sprint Mod), these will not work until it is updated (the team says hopefully tonight).
Update: it's now been updated to version 1.20.85 -- this update contains a fix for the 'invulnerable NPC' bug.
Update: NVSE has been updated appropriately. Grab it here.
