PC WW2 flight game Wings of Prey releases with demo

PC WW2 flight game Wings of Prey releases with demo

Still desperately clutching your PC joystick after all these years? Indeed, the flight genre may have died with Freespace, but we've seen something of a resurrection lately with the likes of HAWX and now Wings of Prey, newly released and packing a demo.

The game features a World War II theme, and appears to be the counterpart to the console-only IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, if only unofficially. IL-2 is considered the best series of its kind, so that bodes well for WoP, also made by developer Gaijin Entertainment. Those scared of flight sims need not fear: the title boasts arcade, realistic and simulator settings, accomodating each type of player.

PC games are not as profitable as they used to be, so Gaijin appears to be self-publishing this one and releasing it digitally (for now, at least) to save on costs. Currently it's available on yuPlay for $50, and will soon be on Steam. Judging from the debut trailer, it should be worth it.
