New Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days screens reveal more gritty visuals

With Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days already having two teasers and a trailer under its belt, there is still much we want to know.

Critics who have already had a hands-on preview with Dog Days have all commented on the interesting use of camera positioning. The original Kane & Lynch was one of the first current generation shooters which adopted the third person perspective, present in titles such as Army of Two: The 40th Day and Gears of War. Dog Days, however, hopes to intensify the gritty, realistic atmosphere that surrounded the first title by spinning a twist on the third person camera style.

Instead of the crisp, smooth visuals which comes in tandem with the most recent instalments to the genre, Kane & Lynch 2 will look entirely as if it was shot from a hand-cam. Aside from applying an authentic grain to the visuals, the camera will also respond to damage, pixelating and producing artifacts when the player is subjected to heavy fire. IO have said themselves capturing screenshots using this new in-game look produces poor quality images, so hopefully gameplay footage will become available soon to showcase this unique visual aspect.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days hasn't received a firm release date, but many are expecting it to launch in Q2.
