Terminator Salvation gets green light

Terminator Salvation gets green light

It's official now and it seems the latest Terminator title to come to gamers will be paired up along with the new movie which releases nationwide on May 22 of next year, the worry of course is that this is a movie property tie-in putting people in the role of John connor taking on Skynet like in the film, the company notes they are going to do some unique models and features to the game but it's always a problem when companies latch themselves onto things like this especially since if you see the movie you know how it ends already which helps defeat the linear story path that most movies turned video games suffer from.

Warner had this to comment on the game:

Terminator Salvation – The Videogame allows players to battle for survival against Skynet enemies utilizing an incredibly fluid and realistic control set,” said Cos Lazouras, President of Halcyon Games. “The player will be led through a visceral story with extremely polished production values to create a fully interactive Terminator experience.”

The game plans to be a cinematic experience capturing the action and excitement of the property, one can only hope that this time around they can do what many other developers / publishers have failed to do and bring a worthwhile movie title to the masses given that they have a good license to actually exploit with Terminator. We'll find out more on the title as things progress, for me I only hope that they crank out the violence and keep it interesting.
