They say gaming is big business now, so it makes sense that one of the largest publishers in the industry would move in on the credit business -- sort of. EA SPORTS is teaming up with Visa to introduce a new rewards program for their fans: spend money and earn points to buy EA SPORTS games.
Basically you'll get a EA SPORTS branded prepaid debit cards, which you can reload with points later on. Each purchase you make at participating retailers, including online ones, will earn you some reward points that can eventually be put toward EA SPORTS video games. Some eligible retailers include Marcy's, Barnes & Noble, Sunglass Hut, Office Max, Papa John's (yum), Coldstone, Target, Apple iTunes, and more.
This should be easy to grasp for anyone who owns a credit card already. Think of them like frequent flyer points but for games; you can pick one up by heading over the official site.
To reload the card with points, holders can use a payroll direct deposit, checking account, another prepaid card, or at a GreenDot or Western Union location -- this includes Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, 7-Eleven, and Radio Shack.
You know Visa, right? Remember those "Life takes Visa" ads?
