Bohemia is preparing its second patch for their PC military shooter ArmA II, and it seems they just can't wait to tell you about it.
The first update ironed out bugs and offered up some improvements; version 1.05 will focus purely on free content. First up is the bonus campaign "Eagle Wing", which features the new AH-64 Apach attack copter and opens up one of ArmA's seven endings with two new levels. Here's the setup:
It's the year 2012, the war in Chernarus has overgrown into a conflict between the USA and the Russian Federation. The player finds themselves caught in the middle of an escalating conflict. As a pilot of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, the player's task seems easy - to get behind enemy lines and attack. However the situation is about to change rapidly...
The second half of the DLC is contained in "When Diplomacy Fails", a warfare mode first introduced in the ArmA: Armed Assault. This lovely package boasts 3-side support for true faction diplomacy and strong tactical and strategic elements and options. Do you take it to the front lines in a full-on assault or play it cautious as commander, giving orders while managing resources and your base? 32 player support is inclusive, and each player can lead his own squad. Suffice to say, it won't be your everyday FPS.
Version 1.05 will launch later this month; we'll be sure to update you when it hits.
