It seems that PS3 Fallout fans have really been getting the short end of the stick. Usually PC gamers are the ones to suffer late-coming releases, but in this case, the abundance of DLC for a big game have passed by the PS3 owners.
Bethesda announced on their blog today that they plan to remedy this situation. All the DLC from the Fallout universe is due over the next few months: Broken Steel, September 24, Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt are coming October 1st, and Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta are due October 8th.
PS3 owners are probably saying "Well, it's about time!" right about now. And then, probably, their annoyance will quickly fade seeing how much great DLC is coming soon.
In addition to all the DLC, a big patch for the PS3 version is also upcoming very soon, that promises to fix many issues, and add trophy support for the DLC.
And that's not all of Bethesda's latest news. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition will also be coming October 13th, for all three of the platforms out there. It'll be the definitive version of Fallout 3, and will include all of the DLC packs integrated into the game, just like prior Bethesda GotY editions, such as with Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. An online update will not be required to get this version of the game going, as all the necessary patches will be integrated. With a total of 5 DLC packs on top of an already large game, Fallout 3 certainly has every fair claim to the name of "Game of the Year" edition.
In celebration of this release, let's flashback to earlier in the year, when a giant dance craze was sweeping the planet:
