THQ and Relic Entertainment announced a new edition to the Dawn of War II series today. The expansion to the PC RTS game is going to be called Chaos Rising. There is no set release date so far.
If you are a Warhammer 40,000 fan, you'll probably guess by the title of the expansion that a Chaos faction is in the game -- and you'd be right. The Chaos Marines are going to be he new race added to the game this time around. However, you will play the new campaign missions as the Blood Ravens, and you have the option of starting out with the squad you finished up the regular game with; with all the experience levels and weapons intact.
The level cap on your Blood Ravens will be raised to 30. New gear and new special abilities will be around. It also appears as if you might be able to pledge allegiance to the Chaos Gods, and gain Chaos powers, if you so chose to be all chaotic like that.
If Dawn of War II follows in the footsteps of the first game, you can expect this expansion pack to be the first of many.
