Fans of classic PC RPGs are pretty much all familiar with Interplay/Atari's catalogue which includes the likes of Planescape: Torment plus the Baldur's Gateand Icewind Dale series'. Perhaps you've never had the chance to get into them, lost your old copy, or are just looking for updated versions -- in either case, Amazon.co.uk and European ratings board PEGI each have new listings for the titles; Amazon shows various new Windows XP and Vista-compatible versions and compilations, and claims they're due for release October 30. The retailer also prices the three and four packs, as well as Planescape at 17.99 (~$29 USD) -- not the greatest deals, but you could do worse if you're really into these titles. Lastly, Game Outlet lists the Icewind pack, though without a price.
Unfortunately no North American outlets seem to have it, so it appears at least at present this is a Europe-only effort. However, in light of Fallout 3's recent success, Interplay did not long ago reissue similar updated versions of Fallout and Fallout 2 in a bundle pack worldwide, which hit the top 10 retail charts several times, so North American gamers can keep their hopes up.
Interestingly, Game Outlet's listing for the Icewind Dale three-pack shows publisher Atari's logo on the box and cites them as the publisher, while Amazon's shows no logo, but lists Interplay as the publisher. What this means remains to be seen; we've contacted the appropriate parties for comment.
Update: PEGI has responded, stating, "These games have indeed been submitted for a PEGI age rating. This is unfortunately all the information we can give."
Update2: Amazon now lists the games as being ready for November 13.
