Final two Star Wars: The Old Republic classes emerge

The Old Republic classes emerge

The cat is out of the bag, it seems: the final two classes that will be appearing in BioWare's PC MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic have been revealed.

The information first showed up in German magazine PC Games. Then Star Wars blog Darth Hater managed to score some time with BioWare producer Jake Norri, asking him questions concerning the new roles these classes will play:

"When you think of Sith Inquisitor, you’re thinking about how we’re talking about him today in the Emperor Palpatine mold, the force lightning using guy... We thought as core classes the Consular and the Inquisitor made the most sense. We thought they balanced well against the other two [Force classes]. You can think of the Jedi Knight and the Sith Warrior as more of a melee-style Jedi, and the other [new] two maybe more of the ranged-style Jedi. I think it made a lot of sense."

These two new classes look like they'll be the last; so all-in-all, there will be eight classes in the game (four Sith, four Jedi).

Star Wars: The Old Republic does not have a release date set; but, beta signups are underway so maybe a late 2010 showing may be possible.
