Capcom has a very important year ahead of itself, with big names on its release schedule, including a remake of an oldschool favourite. Plus, with a promising outlook for the company in the digital realm, you'll also be having the time of your life making sheep mate, pigs fart and cows turn into t-bone steaks. Only the first half of 2009 is spoken for, but it should be plenty to satiate your appetite with.
First up is Flock!, mentioned in the linked article previous. The game will be released in February on the Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, and PC. According to Capcom's digital games marketer John Diamonon, with Flock! "you’ll discover that flocking sheep with a UFO is a strange yet satisfying activity".
Next is possibly the most hyped title -- Street Fighter IV. This one has been set for February 20 on the consoles, with the release of the PC version to be confirmed shortly.
Fan favourite Dead Rising will be coming back to the fold, too with the subtitled 'Chop Til You Drop' coming to the Wii February 27. This one looks to help compensate for Nintendo's image as a 'family-oriented console', what with the zombies and chainsaws and all that lovely stuff. The game is based on the original title for Xbox 360, but has been partially redesigned "for the Wii platform and audience". Using the Wiimote, you'll be "shaking off zombie attacks and swinging and throwing dozens of makeshift weapons, from chainsaws to baseball bats, in order to survive."
And if that's not really your thing, maybe Neopets Puzzle Adventure is more your style. Coming for Nintendo DS, Wii and PC on the same day, the game features more than 150 quests and three mythical lands to explore, and is said to be "the ultimate virtual-pet puzzle adventure game appealing to puzzle enthusiasts, casual gamers and fans of the Nickelodeon property."
Then we have Resident Evil 5, arriving in game shops everywhere Friday the 13th, March 2009. According to the press release, the game brings the "next generation of fear to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3". Our readers weren't terribly impressed with the trailers we showed a little while back -- maybe this next generation of fear isn't so hot? We'll all see in a few months, in any case, and get to try out the co-op feature, too.
March also sees something from the racing department: MotoGP, on shelves during the pre-season activity for the 2009 MotoGP season. Releasing for the Wii, this one will turn the remote into a set of handlebars, and will accomodate all kinds of players with different handling models and AI rider characteristics.
Lastly is Bionic Commando, the first official sequel to the original NES title. It's not said precisely when this one will arrive, but sometime between March and July is assumed. The title will see release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC, the last version of which will see a short delay. A "compelling single player campaign" is assured, as well as a multiplayer mode.
