Dell's XPS brand turning into a sub-brand

Dell's XPS brand turning into a sub-brand

It seems that Dell's XPS line of gaming laptops and desktops will soon be re-branded as a 'sub-brand' of Dell's Inspiron and Studio models.

Ever since Dell purchased game-machine company Alienware, many people have wondered how Dell's already existing 'XPS' gaming line would compete. So now, instead of XPS getting an equal billing as Alienware, the Alienware website will remain the same, and the XPS models will be grouped together with other high-end models of Dell's main brands.

This re-organization also comes as marketing guy Mark Jarvis related to The Register that Dell will be greatly expanding available models in the Vostro notebook line, a new sub-notebook line, over the next year.
