Spreading the good news tonight, Hidden Path Entertainment has officially announced the development of a new Tower Defense-style strategy title called Defense Grid: The Awakening. Due out in November 2008, the game will make use of Emergent’s Gamebryo Engine and will feature over 20 unique environments, 10 upgradeable towers and 15 different enemy types. Here's a little snippet from the press release:
"Defense Grid: The Awakening redefines tower-defense gameplay, introduces new concepts, and uniquely captures the full excitement 2134 and fun of this genre," said Jeff Pobst, CEO and co-founder of Hidden Path Entertainment. "Defense Grid: The Awakening is as fun for the core gamer pushing their skills as it is for the novice just trying their hand at a strategy game."
