Crytek gained considerable amounts of negative faction towards hardcore gamers with their recent announcement that there would be no further patches to Crysis. The reasoning was, shall we say, mysterious...
There is a good reason for this and we hope you understand when you hear more about the reasons why in the very, very near future.
Well, as of today, the official page for Crysis has something new. An image, and a title - Crysis Warhead.
No word yet on what it means, but my bets are hedged between two possibilities; Expansion pack (and this being published by EA, you'll definitely get to buy it - no freebies), or a next gen console version of Crysis. The console option would bring untold amounts of nerd rage as the implication would be that development resources have moved from fixing the PC game to other tasks, so until proven otherwise, my guess is on an expansion as that would be a reasonable "good reason" implied by Crytek.
