Ghost Recon Online devs talk PC development, teamwork in new video
So Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is due out in March 6, and Ghost Recon Online... doesn't have a release date yet. Still, development is coming along, and Ubisoft today released a video going behind-the-scenes to check up on how far along the team is. In the first "DEV SITREP" trailer, we're given a closer look at some of the design elements going into GRO, which as a free-to-play online shooter, will be exclusive to PC. The original Ghost Recon, as GRO Creative Designer Theo Sanders notes, was on PC, and the community is still thriving. As such, GRO is a return to the franchise's PC roots, despite the contemporary business model Ubi has gone with. The video also touches on some of the team-driven features you can expect to find in GRO, like its class-based gameplay. The Assault unit, for instance, can bring out his shield and just steamroll his way through enemies, and what the GRO closed beta showed was that other players instinctively fall in line behind the Assault to "clean up" his mess (read: shoot survivors). You can still sign up for the beta on the official website. As always, you can check the video here if the player below is acting up. Section: PC Games
