Two new videos came out today showing some gameplay footage from the upcoming Cities XL.
Cities XL is a online city building game, coming from a studio called Monte Cristo. If you have ever played any of the SimCity series, it seems like you'll understand the basics of this game. Basically you have to build a place where your virtual inhabitants will like to hang out. Previously, the Monte Cristo guys made the game City Life.
Cities XL is an online game, so you can go visit cities that your friends may have built. It seems like Monte Cristo is trying to encourage a great deal of player-content generation, by allowing committed players to release 'Gameplay Extension Modules,' which serve as little 'Tycoon-game' like game plug-ins centered around a theme, such as a prison or playground.
Cities XL is coming in the first quarter of 2009 for the PC.
