Taking a look at the business side of things today, 2K Games has announced that they've snagged the publishing rights to Cryptic Studios' highly anticipated superhero MMO, Champions Online. This is 2K's first venture into the world of MMOs, but they seem pretty jazzed about it. Here's a little snippet from the press release:
"2K Games is excited to work with such a talented group as Cryptic Studios," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Given their stellar pedigree and amazing grasp of the MMO genre, we are confident that Champions Online will deliver an innovative and exciting action MMO experience to gamers."
Champions Online is scheduled for release in Spring 2009.
