Miracle Kidz developing River City Ransom sequel

Miracle Kidz is reviving the classic NES brawler River City Ransom for home consoles and PC in Japan. River City Ransom 2 will show up this later this summer for consoles while the PC version (confirmed to have online features) is scheduled for a 2012 release.

The original River City Ransom was notable for including RPG elements that allowed players to boost their stats and learn new moves over the course of the game. Some of the staff members from River City Ransom are working on the sequel.
