Modders recreate Pokémon Red in Minecraft
Many of us grew up with fond memories of Pokémon Red, Blue, and/or Yellow. You know, back when there were only 151 Pokémon, and they were all adorable? Well, Minecraft players "seagoingmanatee" and "Pwootage" also really misses the primary colors, so they decided to create an actual Pokémon Red mod in Minecraft. The mod actually scatters the original 151 'Mons all over the blocky in-game universe, and the frequency with which they appear corresponds to their rarity in Red. As this video shows, Pidgey and Caterpie are the most common Pokémon, seen running around the grassy areas. The modders also added the three starter Pokémon -- Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle -- into the world, so you can actually catch them as well. How? With Poké Balls, obviously. Yeah, the mod has those for capturing and holding your Pokémon, in addition to a Pokédex for naming your creatures and Rare Candy for evolving them. Check out the video, narrated by a "Captain Sparklez." It's nearly 10 minutes in length but very cute. Section: PC Games
